preparing for your boudoir photoshoot

#1 communication

Listen I get it! You probably have no idea what kind of vibe you are wanting to rock out for your session. Or the location you are wanting it to be at.

My job as your boudoir photographer is to make sure planning for your photoshoot is easy and comfortable.

The major part to preparing for your boudoir photoshoot is communicating all the idea’s you have in mind. Here’s a list of things that are super helpful when planning your session:

  • Do you have any outfits you have in mind. If not ,what type of outfits do you feel most comfortable in.
  • What about the location? Are you wanting to be in the great outdoors and become one with mother nature. Or are you wanting to have your session in the private setting of a studio. Maybe you are looking for a more home like feel then the studio I provide. Don’t worry! We can work together to find the perfect location just for you!
  • How about hair and make-up? Are you wanting to go with the person you have always gone to. Or are you wanting to venture out and hire our glam squad?

Just remember, your boudoir photoshoot is all about you! So have fun when coming up with idea’s and don’t be afraid to step outside of your comfort zone.

#2 GET PAMPERED

While you will have the option to utilize our glam squad for your session, it’s not a bad idea to make some time for you the weeks leading up to your session.

Head to the salon to get your hair trimmed and or colored. Give your finger nails and toes some love. Maybe even head to your favorite clothing stores and try on some new lingerie! Hey, while your ad it, get your favorite sweet treat!

#3 Read the prep guides

Most photographers will send you prep guides to help you prepare for your boudoir photoshoot. Mine consists of outfit ideas and some pointers on how to pick the perfect outfits. What not to do before your session. Like spray tans…Just believe me on this one. You’ll thank me later. You’ll also get some more details pointers on what to do before your session.

Swinging back to communication, it’s always a good idea to reach out if you have any questions. No question is too small!

#4 What to pack

Okay, so packing outfits is a given. But what about the other stuff? Well, I always recommend to pack more then you think you’ll need. Only because I would rather have you safe then sorry. Here are some recommendations.

  • Make sure to bring a minimum of 4 outfits. You never know how many outfits we can really work through. Plus if you have one that you are dying to wear, you might as well bring it with you!
  • I always recommend to bring some snacks with you. You’ll be posing most of your session and with that comes burning calories. So it’s a good idea to bring some crackers or anything else you might want to munch on if need be.
  • Feminine products are also a good idea. You may be close to your cycle but not started yet. So it’s always a good idea to have what you need on hand, just in case.
  • The last little info I recommend is something to drink. Drinking water during your session is not only a good idea to keep you hydrated but it also makes your skin glow! YAY!

#5 TRUST THE PROCESS
